The Hospital is looking for a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to join our team.
Providing creative and recreational activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, therapeutic, cognitive, and recreational needs of our patients.
Utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the client's behavior, be-it cognitive, social, emotional or physical.
Educates the client in healthy coping skills and available leisure resources to continue the client in post-discharge leisure planning and involvement.
Attends treatment team conferences to exchange information and observations with other members of the team, as well as assisting with the completion of the initial treatment plan and progress summary updates.
Designs interventions which are relevant to the specific populations served.
Provides a safe and trusting therapeutic environment for patients.
Demonstrates skill in helping patients process interventions, allowing them to process emotions related to activities, and personal meanings associated with experiences and any parallels to their lives.
Motivates patients to learn and better understand themselves and the issues they face.
