Paragon Ophthalmology is a successful and busy practice in southwest Michigan that is looking to add an excellent BC/BE comprehensive ophthalmologist. The practice has great support staff with four full-time MD’s, and one OD. The physicians maintain independence while enjoying the benefits of being part of a larger multi-specialty group for purchasing, third-party contracting, and administrative services. One physician in the group is expecting to retire in 2020. This position has potential for partnership. The new physician can expect to perform 400+ cataract surgeries per year and be busy immediately. Competitive salary ($200,00/year base with 50% of collections above $500,00), health and malpractice insurance are included. 401(k) with profit sharing becomes available in the second year. Our practice has great working relationships with large, local health care systems, two local hospitals, the Surgery Center of Kalamazoo, and active groups of referring optometrists and primary care providers. Call is one in ten. Kalamazoo is a mid-sized university town including WMU School of Medicine, with a metropolitan population of 335,000 offering cultural, career, and educational opportunities of larger areas. Situated midway between Chicago and Detroit, Kalamazoo enjoys an expanding economy based on diverse industry, including pharmaceuticals, medical device design and manufacture, electronics, automotive, agriculture and tourism. The area is one of the most affordable metro areas in the nation. We enjoy the changing of the seasons here from crisp autumn colors with trips to the apple orchards, to winter days skiing and sledding, the vibrant renewal of spring, and summer jaunts through Michigan wine country to Lake Michigan beaches or numerous inland lakes. Forests, lakes, rolling hills, wildlife, friendly people and fine schools make southwest Michigan a beautiful place to work, make friends, and raise a family.
