M Health Fairview Cancer Center (Ridges)-Burnsville, MN is a department of the University of Minnesota Medical Center. We are looking for an experienced Oncology/Hematology Registered Nurse to support our busy Cancer and Infusion Center.
.7 FTE (56 hours each two week pay period) 8 hour shifts

Position reports to Clinical Manager Service Line for the Cancer Center (Ridges)-Burnsville
The care team consists of multiple specialty Providers, Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Pharmacists and other supportive care staff.

Chemotherapy and Infusion nursing responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administering complex chemotherapy and infusion medications; such as antibiotics, monoclonal antibodies, cytotoxic medications, blood products and other medications associated with adult oncology and infusion services.
Provides appropriate support and education for patients and their families.
Utilizes appropriate critical thinking skills when assessing side effects of treatment.
Follows policy and procedures to provide safe and high quality care to all patients
Collaborates with the care team to ensure continuity of the care resulting in quality outcomes.
Works as part of the team while also delegating specific duties as appropriate
Demonstrates high level knowledge in the care of peripheral and central venous catheters.
Demonstrates knowledge of oncologic emergencies and the nursing management of the patient.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Required Experience
2-3 years experience in Oncology Care and Chemotherapy administrationOR2-3 years experience in Oncology Care, plus 3-4 years experience with peripheral and center venous catheter management AND non-oncology infusion therapy.
Experience working in an ambulatory care setting
Experience in administering antibiotics, monoclonal antibodies, chemo therapy, blood products and associated medications.
Experience working with adult population /patients
Minimum Licensure/certification/registration: Current Oncology Certified Nurse or ability to obtain OCN certification within 1-2 years of date of hire based on FTE appointment Ability to provide written validation of current basic life support competency for healthcare providers
Current MN RN Licensure
Minimum Education: Current MN RN licensure or by start date
Prefer: BSN or willingness to obtain in near future
