Tenet Healthcare is searching for a Director of Materials Management to support the USPI business. The candidate must have **HEALTHCARE** materials management experience with an emphasis on Orthopedic implants. Under minimal supervision, this position negotiates, directs and implements regional purchasing agreements, processes, contracts and materials management initiatives. This position will report to the USPI VP of Procurement with a dotted line to the Market Presidents of the covered regions. The candidate will have responsibility for approximately 50-60 healthcare facilities. These facilities may include both Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC�s) and Surgical Hospitals. The position will be based in either Dallas, Texas, South Florida or St. Louis, Missouri. Approximately 65% travel is required. Supporting market cost savings objectives and implementing Best Practices in support of budgeted procurement and productivity initiatives Leading the negotiation of regional and facility level contracts Analyzing financial information and implementing strategic solutions to meet budgeted case cost and EBITDA targets Managing market compliance to USPI and GPO national contracts Actively participating on the USPI Corporate Procurement Team to stay abreast of industry reforms and corporate initiatives, and providing communication and implementation of those initiatives to the Market. Providing market focused prioritization and support for the implementation of new contracts, contract conversions, and procurement initiatives Performing new acquisition integration including capability and competency assessment of materials management personnel and transition support to include system transition, contract conversions, and personnel training. Performing Materials Management Operational Reviews, audits and monitoring on purchasing and inventory control processes within the Market. Participating in Home Office Quarterly Business Review (QBR) Meetings.
Qualifications:
Required: Strong negotiation experience required Excellent understanding of Orthopedic Implants Ability to successfully negotiate with implant vendors Experience in driving value through rebates and tier level contract negotiation required 3-5 years healthcare materials management experience with at least 2 years supervisory experience Excellent analytical skills required, results driven Knowledge of healthcare purchasing, inventory management systems, procurement, supplies distribution/operations and contracting, capital equipment and automated systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, Strong problem solving skills. Proficient in the Microsoft Product Suite.
Preferred: Acute Care Hospital procurement knowledge strongly preferred Knowledge of IOS/ENVI, Cerner, and HCIQ systems preferred.
