Haley Veterans Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse (Telehealth) to work in the Nursing/Ambulatory care service to provide care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process. *** THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO ALL US CITIZENS. The nurse's primary commitment Is to the patent whether an Individual, family, group, or community The Registered Nurse (Telehealth) demonstrates leadership In delivering and Improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. The Registered Nurse II registered nurse ls a proficient nurse who demonstrates proficiency in decision making and using the nursing process for complex situations that effect performance outcomes at the point of care. Practice Is enhanced through development of collegial relationships. This nurse demonstrates collaboration by using the group process to solve problems. The focus Is on leadership In strategically planning long-term goals for the microsystem (unit team, or workgroup) that Impacts operations or resources. The proficient nurse demonstrates critical thinking with efficiency and accuracy in assessing and managing situations. The Registered Nurse (Telehealth) performs direct patient clinical support including personal care under the direction of the provider. Uses peripherals to collect medical data such as heart sounds, breath sounds, visualizing wounds, ears, nose, throat etc. Identifies and reports digital data and subtle changes in patients' behavior or condition. Performs wound care or removes sutures/staples as directed by Tele Provider. Ensures patient is checked in through appropriate mechanism, such as VISTA; applies knowledge of the telehealth "two appointment" method using clinical pathway and also checks to assure room and equipment are scheduled and available for usage during clinic appointment. Some of the duties includes and are not limited to: Ensures patient setting is clean and safe for exam. Installs, verifies equipment is in proper working order, maintains equipment and keeps a log of all equipment located at Technician work location. Screens patient prior to examination to assure appropriateness of telehealth visit and documents verbal consent. Verifies that all patient encounters of Technician side are completed prior to end of day and notifies medical professional responsible for patient when their side encounter is not complete as appropriate. Collects information from patients, providing personal patient care, completes clinical reminders, completes preventative medicine evaluation and educates patients on pre-testing and post-procedure activities, as appropriate. Maintains open lines of communication with Telehealth and Clinic Leadership. Establishes communication agreement with Provider and Clinic staff on how to handle emergent situations. Ensures patient setting is clean and safe for exam. Follow the recommended safety guidance PPE for COVID19 mitigation. Utilizes DICOM and CapSure software, places images in patient's electronic medical record via CPRS/VISTA. Follow up timely (24-72) hours later via the DICOM and ensure image was read and/or a report was entered. Reminds provider site if this does not take place within the allotted time. Coordinates scheduling with scheduling clerk or acts as scheduling clerk as necessary to ensure both sites (Patient & Provider) are scheduled at least 1 minute apart and in the appropriate clinic. Checks pending consult using the Consult Tracking Manager system to ensure timely addressing of consults. Maintains electronic calendar consisting of Telehealth information (appointments, V-tel, schedules) accessible by Telehealth and Clinic Leadership. Other duties assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 08:00 AM to 4:30 PM. (And will be required to travel to support other satellite clinics besides the main facility in Tampa) Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
