Primary Function:
ChristianaCare is looking for a Full-Time Access Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative support to Physician and Genetic Providers in order to meet the needs of patients in a timely and accurate manner. The Access Coordinator will perform tasks which will include triage, scheduling, insurance verification, and all patient communication.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates communication between all levels of the health care team effectively, utilizing both written and verbal communication skills.
Inbound and outbound calls to patients and referring providers.
Retrieving daily referrals from Aerial, PowerChart, daily report, and fax.
Triaging of patient's referrals to ensure patient will be scheduled in appropriate clinic.
Scheduling patients with Genetics' Providers (Prenatal, Cancer, Cardiovascular, NICU, Adult, Neuro) in Revenue Cycle.
Acquiring all records needed prior to scheduling and/or appointment (i.e. verifying if any family member had genetic testing and ensuring that copy of testing report is/will be available at least 3 days prior to appointment).
Ensuring patients are scheduled with appropriate Genetic Counselor and/or Clinic.
Verify insurance coverage and acquire prior authorizations and/or referrals for office visits.
Verifying and notifying patients of referral status.
Soarian Registration, including that labels and any other documentation needed is printed and ready for appointment.
Crafting and updating patient information in Word Database, Progeny and Spreadsheet to ensure all communication with patients and providers is recorded.
Preparing all patient charts for Genetic appointments in a timely manner.
Checking in patents and ensuring that demographics, insurance, and patient ID is correct and scanned into the system and collect co-pays.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma
Two-year experience in a medical setting or physician's office
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Knowledge of the clerical functions and office procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
