Primary Function:
The Senior Perioperative Data Analyst applies advanced skills in data retrieval, analysis and visualization using service line and system databases in support of Surgical Services and Women & Children's Service line operational and clinical performance. This individual will craft databases for service line and system use using data visualization tools such as Tableau. The Senior Data Analyst supports the department, service line leadership, and projects by providing timely and accurate data for strategic decision-making needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Applies knowledge of perioperative data sources, including but not limited to Enterprise Analytics Warehouse (EAW), Cerner reporting tools such as Power Vision, Power Insight, and DA2, and SQL, and Alteryx.
Applies knowledge of OB/GYN data sources, including but not limited to OBIS, EAW, and Cerner Maternity.
Builds and maintains Tableau databases in support of department, service line and system need.
Maintains Alteryx and server tables supporting department reporting.
Leads all aspects of Tableau maintenance and users.
Complete ad hoc reports.
Collaborates with leadership, project leaders, and physicians on reporting and visualization for service line reporting and database development.
Functions as data lead on VITs and major service line or system initiatives.
Acts as an expert resource for Periop Data Analyst, assisting with SQL, PI, building of server tables and data visualization.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related, Finance, Business, or IT field required.
Minimum of 3 years in healthcare data analytics.
Mining and manipulation of data from enterprise warehouse systems and use of large data sets.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Intermediate skills in SQL and data visualization applications.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
