The ASC Nurse Manager - Perioperative Services is responsible and accountable for the clinical and personnel management of the Operating Room and support areas of Admit/Recovery/Discharge as well as the Recovery Care Center. Responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of a staff of charge nurses, clinical and auxiliary personnel. Responsible for maintaining schedule efficiency with a priority of safe and effective patient care.

Principal Responsibilities
Responsible for the supervision of nursing/auxiliary personnel.
Responsible for proactively managing/preventing patient and staff safety issues by directing and collaborating with the ASC team as necessary. Responsible for leading RCA activities following a patient or staff safety event in a timely manner and presenting corrective recommendations to leadership.
Maintains survey readiness for IDPH/CMS/AAAHC/ISMIE and other regulatory bodies.
Recommends departmental policies and procedures and maintain updates.
Responsible for financial stewardship of the department.
Coordinates adequate staffing of departments, approve vacations, leaves, etc. in a consistent manner.
Reviews and approves departmental payroll records.
Manages the selection, training/orientation and performance evaluation of department personnel. Constructively counsel and when necessary, discipline staff.
Responsible for emergency preparedness of all staff.
Oversees and collaborates on staff educational programs, competency testing, and professional development opportunities for all levels of employees.
Excels at problem-solving through communication and innovative approaches to issues that arise.
Reviews patient complaints and grievances and responds appropriately, escalating when necessary.
Actively participates in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement planning, data collection, and reporting to benefit quality patient care.
Participates in budget preparation and evaluation of clinical equipment purchases.
Completes work/repair requisitions.
Participates in committees, as required.
Capable of assuming staff role, if necessary
Keeps confidential matters relating to the Clinic, its patients and employees.
Complies with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
Adheres to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
Provides excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum five (5) years experience in Perioperative Setting. Management experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates
Licensed as RN in State of Illinois. BSN, preferred.
PALS and ACLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within first 90 days of employment.
Current BLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Evidence of previous leadership experience.
Must be mobile throughout department.
Experience with MS Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Working Environment
Work is performed in an office environment including computer and phone use.
Requires walking, standing, lifting 50 pounds or more and other physical activities to assist staff in clinical areas.
Work under stress and heavy workloads at various times.
