Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Anesthesia Tech II; Per Diem; Saturday or Sunday; 6AM-2PM or 2P-10PM.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for stocking anesthetic supplies for ORs
Maintaining anesthetic equipment
Insuring anesthetic equipment is available
Assisting clinicians with patient care

Job Responsibilities:

• Clinical/ Patient Care Provides assistance to all anesthesia clinicians: During induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia With the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices. Provides medication to provider Retrieves and drugs to drug delivery system With pain blocks, epidurals, spinals, line placement and patient positioning With transporting patients Follows directives and protocols Communicates with circulating nurses
• Other Assists with the training of Anesthesia Technicians Apprises supervisor of performance of Anesthesia Technicians Ensures workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift Performs other related duties as requested
• Gases Insures medical pipeline is operational, including N2O, O2 and Medical Air Checks the status of nitrous oxide, nitrogen and carbon dioxide cylinder banks to determine available supply pressure Replaces empty cylinders
• Supplies Checks machine drawers to insure they are well stocked Makes available fluids, Lactated Ringers, Plasma Lite, Normal Saline, Hespan, Flextend, FFP, Whole Blood and Albumin Disposes of supplies used in regular and contaminated cases
• Equipment Calibrates and runs Quality Control and Quality Assurance analysis Calibrates and trouble-shoots anesthesia machines Sets up Level I RIS, syringe pumps, capnographs, TEG and TEEs Sets up intravenous, central venous, arterial, pulmonary artery catheters using sterile techniques, percutaneous introducer kits, double lumen kits, triple lumen kits, long arm CVP kits, chest tubes, ARNDT blockers, univent tubes, trans-tracheal intubations, fiberoptic scopes, LMAs, tube changers, jet ventilation and resuscitation bags. Clears debris and equipment from the surface and drawers of used anesthesia machines Insures the sterility and cleanliness of all machines Performs all standard procedural checks on equipment Assists with trouble shooting technical problems Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment Informs Engineering and supervisor of needed repairs

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or HS diploma and certification from ASATT or ATA
• Two years of work experience in a periop area or related field
• Familiarity with Operating Room drug and equipment terminology required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates Degree preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $29.19 - $30.61 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
