The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease & International Medicine at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full time Infectious Disease specialist in the Tenure-Track.
About the Appointment:
The candidate will support the goal of building a nationally recognized research division in focused areas of research, i.e. HIV, nosocomial infections, global health, etc.
Faculty hires will participate in translational research, as well as provide a level of direct patient care via participation on both inpatient and outpatient services (20%).
The position will include both inpatient and outpatient duties at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-Fairview, providing outpatient infectious disease clinic services in the Clinic & Surgery Center.
Candidates may be at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level, with associated salary increase if hired above the assistant rank.
It is anticipated that candidates will either apply for extramural funding by year two or have established funding if hired at the higher ranks.
About the Division:
The Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine provides a full range of services for a variety of infectious diseases, including two subspecialty programs for HIV and AIDS. We identify and treat infections associated with sexual activity, contaminated food, exposures from travel, surgery and other sources. From routine vaccinations to complex diagnosis, evaluation, treatment and prevention of infectious disease, we work as a multidisciplinary team. We collaborate with our world-renowned Transplant Center, providing patients the opportunity to participate in research studies.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Disease fellowship training program.
Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of clinical and translational research, as well as a record of funding and publications.
Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
