JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Duke Triangle Heart Associates in our Duke Triangle Heart Associates clinic located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Rooms patients by following Standard Rooming Protocol with the exception of Medication Reconciliation. Including provider visits as well as diagnostic prep.
Performs finger stick glucose testing with appropriate skills validation by RN/LPN.
Participate in own professional development by maintaining required skills validation and attending education offerings. Support the development of other staff and formal learners.
Performs EKGs per standing orders after appropriate skills validation by RN/LPN.
Reports any findings during rooming process that are outside of established parameters to RN/LPN/MD/APP.
Assists patients with decreased/impaired mobility utilizing proper body mechanics as outlined by Duke Moves Training.
Assist in emergency situations as assigned. Follows scope of practice as outlined by NC Board of Nursing and Health Department.
Places various cardiac and ambulatory blood pressures monitors per protocol after skills validation.
Cross trains and assists in clerical, clinical and diagnostics after adequate training and skills validated.
Performs all tasks provided herein as well as any other tasks delegated by RN/LPN/provider as outlined by governing body.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a Level I - Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing or successful completion of the NC - approved Nurse Aide I competency test.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect or misappropriation of property.
BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of new hire orientation, which typically takes place during the first week of employment.
